OptiSense ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Our Core Principle: Your health data stays on YOUR device. We use a privacy-first, local-first architecture.
Information We Collect
Health Data (via Apple HealthKit)
With your explicit permission, OptiSense accesses the following health data from Apple Health:
- Sleep analysis (duration, quality)
- Heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV)
- Resting heart rate
- Active energy burned
- Step count and workout data
- Mindfulness minutes
- Body measurements (weight, body fat %, if available)
- Respiratory rate and blood oxygen (if available)
Important: This data is processed entirely on your device to calculate your Readiness Score. Raw health data is never transmitted to external servers.
Food Images (AI Food Scanner)
When you use the AI Food Scanner feature:
- Photos are sent to our AI service for nutritional analysis
- Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded
- We do not store, save, or retain your food photos
AI Coaching Conversations
When you interact with our AI coaches:
- Only anonymized health summaries (e.g., "sleep: good", "HRV: above average") are sent
- Raw health metrics are never transmitted
- Conversations may be used to improve AI responses (anonymized)
Account Information
For social features, we may collect:
- Display name (chosen by you)
- Friend connections
- Challenge participation
- Achievement data
How We Use Your Information
- Readiness Score Calculation: Processed locally on your device
- Personalized Insights: Generated using on-device algorithms
- AI Coaching: Anonymized summaries sent to provide relevant advice
- Food Analysis: Images processed for nutritional information only
- Social Features: Connect with friends and participate in challenges
- App Improvement: Anonymized usage analytics (if opted-in)
Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
All health data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms. Your data is protected by your device's passcode and biometric authentication.
Cloud Storage
The following data may be stored in the cloud (via Apple's iCloud/CloudKit):
- Social profile and friend connections
- Challenge and achievement data
- App preferences and settings
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- AI Providers: For coaching and food analysis (anonymized data only)
- Apple CloudKit: For social features sync
- Apple StoreKit: For subscription management
Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Share identifiable health data with advertisers
- Use your data for targeted advertising
- Transfer raw health data outside your device
Social Sharing
You control what health information is shared with friends:
- Readiness score sharing is optional
- Streak and achievement sharing is optional
- You can revoke sharing permissions at any time
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data OptiSense has about you
- Export: Export your data in a portable format
- Delete: Request deletion of your data
- Revoke: Revoke HealthKit permissions at any time via iOS Settings
- Opt-out: Disable analytics and crash reporting

Children's Privacy
OptiSense is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
